Takahiro Ishinabe
received his B.S., M.S., and Ph. D. degrees in Electronic Engineering from
Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 1995, 1997 and 2000,
respectively. From 2000
to 2002, he was a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of
Science and since 2003, he has been an Assistant
Professor in the Department of Electronics, Graduate school of Engineering,
Tohoku University. He has
also been a Visiting Professor in the CREOL, The College of Optics and
Photonics, University of Central Florida since 2010. He has been performing a
research on advanced liquid crystal displays such as wide viewing angle
LCD, reflective full-color LCD and field sequential color LCD. He received the Best Poster
Paper Award from SID in 1998, the Outstanding Poster Paper Award from IDW
in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009 and in 2011,
respectively, the Special Recognition Award from SID in 2011, Funai Award
from Funai Foundation for Information Technology (FFIT) in 2012 and Fujio
Frontier Award from ITE in 2013.
He has been served as a Program Chairman of the workshop on LC
Science & Technologies at IDW since 2011. He is a senior member of
Society for Information Display, a member of Japanese Liquid Crystal
Society, Japan Society of Applied Physics and the Institute of Image
Information and Television Engineers of Japan.
