In our laboratory, research is conducted for the purpose of clarifying the interesting solid-state properties of magnetic materials, creating their new materials and developing technological applications using those materials. Magnetic materials play an important role in our modern technological society. Today the general public knows the vital role of magnetism in information storage as well as in electric power and electrical communications. In order to develop new magnetism applications, it is crucial to understand the magnetic behavior of potentially useful materials and control their properties. Some of the fundamental properties, such as magnetic anisotropy and magnetostriction as well as intrinsic magnetization,of these technically important materials are still not understood. Thus particular emphasis is placed on investigating the relation between structural and magnetic properties of materials. Research is also conducted to search for a new effect of ultra-clean technology on fabrication of thin films.

The subjects under study are as follows.

  1. Recording Media (Longitudinal and Perpendicular)
  2. Magneto-resistive Head or Sensor (CIP and CPP)
  3. MRAM (TMR)
  4. Giant magnetic moment in Iron-Nitride (Fe16N2) film
  5. Self-Organized Magnetic Nano Particle with Chemical Synthesis Method
  6. Promising Half-metallic ferromagnetism
  7. Exchange anisotropy -Ferro/Anti Ferro interface
